An Inner and Outer Journey on the Via de la Plata...by Glenyce Johnson

During June, a group of walkers set out on a Wandering the World 10-day, 150km pilgrimage on the Via de la Plata, through some of the most stunning countryside in Spain, following the last section of the Camino route from Vilar de Barrio, Ourense to Santiago de Compostela. The Via de la Plata Camino is also known as The Silver Way. The walk was escorted by Glenyce Johnson and co-hosted by Louise Marra, a highly respected and renowned teacher and leadership coach.

In June 2016, the Kappa Family from Melbourne, Australia - Amanda & George and their three daughters, Charli, Lexi and Sienna set off from Sarria in northern Spain, to walk the Camino de Santiago with Wandering the World Co-founder, Glenyce Johnson, and a few other fellow walkers. They walked the last 100kms of the Camino de Santiago and on arriving in Santiago de Compostela achieved their certificates of recognition as Pilgrims. Amanda shares the family's experience, through the eyes of their children.

A beautiful, sunny autumn Sunday morning was perfect walking weather. Over one hundred Wandering the World travellers and friends joined us for a 10km walk through the gardens and parks of inner Melbourne. Melbourne maybe half a world away from many of the extraordinary trips we offer, from trekking in Nepal to walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain and Portugal, but the spirit and joy of sharing the great outdoors and each others company was alive and well as we set off from the Botanical Gardens.
